Time grand launch with Nick Warren

Manila’s best house club Time will finally have it’s official launch party on Friday September 16 with DJ Nick Warren. Nick Warren (UK) is one of the worlds best (progressive) house DJs (known for his Global Underground album series and as a member of Way Out West).

The Renaissance of The Establishment

Not a lot has been happening in the past 6 months in The Establishment. Now that both Encore/Embassy and Members Only are closed, we guess they thought it would be a good idea for an official re-launch. They call it “The Renaissance of The Establishment” and it’s happening on Friday August 5 2011 (see flyer below).

Starting August 5 The Establishment will have 4 weekly club-nights:

  • Wednesdays: Retro Rockin’ Wednesday with the Bloomfields (live band playing classic pop/rock)
  • Thursdays: Grind with DJs Toy Armada and Brian Cua
  • Fridays: Friday Fiasco with DJs Funky Avi and Travis Monsod and DJs Kat & Lexi
  • Saturdays: Mode Prive Saturday with DJs Alex Pain and JC Sandejas & Opening DJs Carlo, Nampu and Pat Po.

The Establishment will also feature hot Model bartenders Alexandra Santos and Janelle Olafson.

I have seen some of the promotors calling The Establishment “Opus of The Fort”, although we don’t agree with that, it’s definitely a really nice lounge/club and I hope the re-launch will be a big success and that The Establishment will become another exclusive hot spot in Manila nightlife.

Opus Restaurant and Lounge

Opus is an upscale restaurant and lounge/club in Resorts World Manila. It is currently the place to see and be seen in Manila. In weekends the lounge is more like a club. It is always packed with beautiful people and the atmosphere is amazing. They have great DJs playing mainly house tunes (mixed with hiphop/mashup and party music on Saturdays).

Opus is absolutely one of the top hotspots in Manila. We’ve spotted many of the hottest celebrities in Opus and even the president of the Philippines has visited Opus with his girlfriend.

The Opus lounge is renaissance inspired with high ceilings and tall mirror windows on bright white walls. Opus has 3 bars. The Front Bar, located at the main entrance, the Main Bar located at the lounge entrance and Art Bar, which is the most memorable (it’s a massive chrome sculpture that serves as the lounge’s centerpiece).

Lunch and dinners at Opus are served in style, in an elegant 60-seat glass-encased dining area.  The dining area is made-up with platinum hued banquets and marble tables. The walls are flanked by deconstructed fine art murals. Opus serves modern European cuisine by Manila’s top chef Carlos Miguel.

Bond Urban Pub Manila

Embassy Forever!

Tonight is the official Embassy (Encore) closing party. Embassy has been the most (in)famous club in Manila in the past 7 years and has been the number one spot in Manila nightlife for many years. So we (and many other people) are very sad to see it’s closing its doors. We all have so many good, blurry and some not-so-good memories. But is this really the end? Or will Embassy live on? Not at it’s current location, that’s for sure, but we have a feeling that Embassy might re-open sometime at an other location within the next year (Resorts World?). Let’s hope so. Embassy Forever!

Time in Manila

Time in Manila is one of the only clubs in the Metro that focuses mainly on (underground) house and dance music. This club is different than most of the other superclubs and has a great underground vibe created by a combination of the interior, the crowed and the DJs that have a passion for house music. At Time you can expect to hear various EDM styles such as techno, tech-house, deep-house, electro, trance, etc.

Club Time regularly invites some of the top international house and techno DJs. Some DJs that have played at Time are Nick Warren, Darren Emerson, Yousef, Secret Cinema, Rosie Romero, John 00 Flemming, Jazzanova and Nelski.

Time has 3 floors. On the first floor is the main DJ booth, the dancefloor and a bar. The second floor consists of a balcony (build around the first floor) and  a lounge area with bar. The top floor is an outdoor roof terrace which has it’s own bar and DJ booth. A great place to relax and have a cocktail while listening to some nice beats.
